Reviews of DCU from current and previous customers vary from excellent poor. For the positive reviews, DCU provided a very good banking experience and those that received personal loans and had issues with getting approved at other financial institutions, stated that DCU had provided them with great rates.

Complaints of poor customer service, customer service representatives with little to no knowledge of transactions that the customer’s state have happened, even payments being made and then never recorded. According to customer reviews, the top rated service offered by DCU is their checking accounts. Their free checking option does not charge any fees and you are able to get upgrades to your account if you bundle your services with DCU. The additional checking option they offer is the dividend checking. With this option, you will receive dividends based on the amount you have in your checkings account. However, you have to maintain a daily balance of at least $2,500. If your balance falls below the minimum, there is a $10 per month fee you will have to pay until the balance is brought to or above the minimum.
The worst service according to reviews is DCU’s mortgages. If you are refinancing, your LTV ratio has to be higher than what most banks require. You will also have to start an account with DCU before they will process your mortgage or refinancing.
